I would not be ashamed to try giving us homework with a twist or of higher difficulty, but I understand the logistics behind it.
That would be amazing! Though as you say, coming up with a complex, engaging and rewarding task is hard. I hope the last 3 homeworks will at least touch on that. From my personal experience, I can say that I had most fun solving complex git challenges in work while implementing parts of Red Hat's continuous integration and delivery. It's one thing to use git in your project, but completely different when you write code that literally operates git repositories and suddenly you need to write test cases that involve git repos.
