Garlic Butter Pasta (10–15 minutes)

Ingredients (1–2 servings)

* 200 g pasta (spaghetti/penne/etc.)
* 2 tbsp butter (or olive oil)
* 2–3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
* Salt
* Black pepper
  Optional:
* Chili flakes
* Lemon juice
* Grated parmesan
* Chopped parsley

Instructions

1. Boil a pot of salted water. Cook pasta until al dente.
2. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain pasta.
3. In the same pot on low heat, melt butter. Add garlic and cook 30–60 seconds (don’t brown).
4. Add pasta back in. Add a splash of reserved pasta water and toss until glossy.
5. Season with pepper (and more salt if needed). Add any optional toppings.

* Protein: canned tuna, cooked chicken, or a fried egg
* Veg: spinach (wilts fast), peas, or cherry tomatoes
